(PTAC) PORTER TOWNSHIP COMMUNITY ACTIVITY COMMITTEE
The former Porter Township Elementary School at 216 Spring Run Road is the home of the Porter Township Activity Center. The building was built in 1955 as the Porter Township school and over the years became the Porter Township Elementary School. Upon closure of the school in 1997 the Porter Township Supervisors purchased the property renovating the building with a vision. A committee of residents was formed and held many many activities over the next 17 years most prominent the Farmers Breakfast, Holiday parties for the youth in the area and the Library.
The building is now occupied by a community Public Library, the Porter Township Municipal Water Authority, many USDA Farm Agency offices and local church business offices. There is also a large multipurpose room and kitchen available for rental events. Rental forms are available on this site.
An committee of residents in the township was formed called (PTAC) Porter Township Activity Committee that serves the community in many ways. In the pasted seventeen years the most well-known function is the Farmer’s Breakfast. This is a well attended event offered throughout the year usually from September thru April scheduled the first Saturday of each month unless otherwise noted.
Also the PTAC organizes many children’s parties throughout the holiday seasons. Halloween, Christmas and Easter Parties. Food fun and activities for everyone. The committee is always looking for help of all sorts. If interested contact the committee e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org. The Committee meets the first Thursday of each month at the Community building. Anyone interested in becoming involved may call a member for more information.
The Center also is available to the public to schedule banquets for your organization with a full menu provided. Cost is determined by choice of menu and number of people. The center is used for family reunions, birthday parties, baby showers, wedding receptions, church celebration dinners and meetings etc.
The kitchen and or multipurpose room may also be rented to carry in your own food for your event renting the multipurpose room only or together using the kitchen also.

The Mission of the Center Committee is to use the center to conduct activities to benefit the residents of the community both socially and when needed, financially.
Our goal is to represent the Township in a supportive organized group to establish a place of unity and community environment from generations past and for the generations to come.
The purpose of the Committee is to provide social activities, provide assistance to those in need in unusually situations, such as fire victims etc. The Committee may also sponsor special fund raising event to assist a special needs case. Fund Raising Events are considered to be; card parties, bingo, lunches, kids fun night and dances.
