Porter Township Recreation Park
The Community Recreation Park is located off of Route 64 adjacent to Washington
Avenue (SR 2002) near the Fish Hatchery. The Park is used constantly throughout the outdoor season.
The facility includes playground equipment, three pavilions, stationary grills,
handicap assessable restrooms, a baseball field, a concession stand, and a tennis court. The park is open from day break until sun down? No pets allowed.
The well maintained picnic area is available for reserved events through the
Township Park Manger. The pavilions are reserved for a fee payable to the township. The revenue from these reservations defrays the cost of the property upkeep and for future projects of improvements.
The baseball field has been called home to many Little League ball teams. Currently it is used by girls softball leagues.
The property upkeep and maintenance is provided by paid employees of the
township. New benches have been installed just to sit and relax and enjoy the summer season.
The Park has installed a Volleyball pit and a walking trail for all to enjoy.
New playground equipment has been installed a pirate ship for children's enjoyment.

PORTER TOWNSHIP NEW VETERANS MEMORIAL
The Porter Township Recreation Board worked on a community project relocating the Veterans Memorial and building a memorial site in honor and or memory of special people.
The Veterans Memorial site was re-located from the triangle of Nittany Valley Drive across from the fire company and Spring Run Road is in process of being relocated to the Township Recreation Park.
The memorial stones were placed on a platform next to the park sign. Memory Bricks were used to pave the way around the memorial stones of this designated area. The bricks are called “Memory Bricks.”
The bricks were engraved with names of special people to honor and give tribute to a Veteran or an emergency responder or acknowledge someone that may have lived their life in the township and given time to the community, as well as a family member that someone may just want to honor in memory of.
What a great gift idea this has been for many families to be part of a community project and own a brick displaying a name of a loved one in the park that can be remembered forever. Honor someone special and help the park continue to grow and support new development.
This opportunity for sponsors and families to get involved can be done so in several ways for your convenience. Come to the township office at 304 Peach Orchard Road Mill Hall, PA 17751 to submit an order form with payment. The order form may also be found on the township website at portertownshippa.com and mail the printable form and payment to the office at the address above. You may also email the office portertownship@yahoo.com with any questions or phone# 570-726-6733 from 9AM- 3PM. The cost to purchase a memory brick is $50. Checks made payable to Porter Township. All proceeds will be used for future park development.
